PNRC
The Regional Natural Park of the Camargue is an exceptional area, managed by a joint union, which have five missions listed in a plan for sustainable development which are:
- The protection and management of natural and cultural heritage,
- Spatial planning,
- Economic and social development,
- The welcome, education and provision of information for the public,
- Experimentation and research.


Wetland of exceptional importance, the Camargue park is located on the Mediterranean, in the Rhone delta, between two arms of the river.
The Camargue park assumes the role of coordinator and facilitator for the LIFE+ Chiro Med program.

Chiropterans of Provence Group was established in 1995 and is an Association under the law of 1901 for the protection of nature. Its purpose is to conduct studies and surveys in the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur in order to improve the knowledge and protection of bats and their habitats. These interventions can lead to actions to protect and manage important sites for bats.


The GCP is committed to disseminate information to:
- Schools: slideshows, exhibitions, building nest boxes;
- The general public: lectures with slide shows, exhibitions;
- Professionals: advice and training for various trades people who come into contact with bats.

cg13Since the 1960s, the Department of Bouches-du-Rhône has been very involved in the protection of sensitive natural areas (ENS) through the implementation of a proactive land acquisition plan in the Camargue, and also in the Calanques de Marseille. Today, the Department is proud to be the owner of more than 16 000 hectares of sensitive natural areas which it seeks to develop in line with its heritage.

The Coastal Conservation Group, which celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2010, has a policy on land leading to the permanent protection of natural areas and landscapes on the French sea and lake shores.
It acquires land which is fragile or threatened, and entrusts its management to local partners (local authorities, associations, public institutions) under the framework of agreements set by management guidelines. Its assets extend over nearly 135,000 hectares in France, Corsica, and also overseas. In the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur regions, its assets amount to more than 35 000 ha of protected land, more than a quarter of the national assets.

SMCGThe Joint Union for the Protection and Management of the Camargue Gardoise was established in 1993 under the leadership of the General Council of the Gard, and is a public institution which combines eight municipalities (Aigues-Mortes, Aimargues Beauvoisin Cailar, The Grau-du-Roi, Saint-Gilles, Saint-Laurent d'Aigouze, Vauvert) united by a common goal: the protection and enhancement of the wetlands that underpin the identity of this area of 55 000 ha. The missions of SMCG include the promotion of socio-economic sustainable traditional, concerted management of water and aquatic environments, public awareness and environmental education.

SMGG

The joint union for the management, protection and enhancement of the Gardon Gorges was created in 1993 by the General Council of the Gard and ten of the twelve local councils within the Gardon Gorges.
The objective of the Union is development, combined with the preservation of the gorges and the species that inhabit them through conservation of protected species, planning and land management, restoration and reconstruction of historical iconic buildings, public awareness of the environment and local development.

AMV
Friends of the Vigueirat Marshes is an association under the law of 1901, created in 2001,it manages the Vigueirat Marshes, a protected natural area and property of the Coastal Conservation society of the Camargue. Its main mission is the conservation of this unique site (which has been proposed as a National Nature Reserve).
Additionally, the Friends of the Vigueirat Marshes promote the development of economic, social and cultural activities on the site, where they are compatible with the protection of nature: welcoming visitors, environmental education, agriculture (livestock, beekeeping), scientific research, hunting, fishing, etc..
Through a process of consultation, the association is also get involved on the ground to ensure that the site and activities that are developed become an engine for the sustainable development of Mas-Thibert, a hamlet of the town of Arles.

CETE

The CETE, in the Mediterranean, decentralized technical service of the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, transport and housing (MEDDTL) is a centre of studies and engineering from all workers in land management: State services, local governments, private or public.


It has been working for 30 years in the Mediterranean region on the development of standards, doctrines and texts applicable in the design and construction of roads, motorways, railways and airports, and a proactive approach to the consideration of sustainable development in the design, management and operation of infrastructure.

The LIFE+ Chiro Med program represents an investment of 2,320,060 euros over four years for its implementation. It is 50% funded by the European Commission, 31% by the French co-financiers (DREAL PACA DREAL LR, CR PACA CR LR, GC30), and 19% by the eight technical partners of the program.

Astrale Oréade Breche - External monitoring office of the LIFE+ Chiro Med program for the European Commission

AstraleTo monitor the project, the Commission is assisted by external monitoring teams. The help of these teams consists of monitoring and evaluating the progress of the project and its consistency with the costs incurred. Their role is only advisory in respect to the Commission. They are independent of the project. Monitoring teams check the project and evaluate the reports submitted to the Commission.
